L’Ombre Berbère Afghan

This was a lot of fun to make and it came out beautifully. I added a little more to the border to finish up the yarn.

Such a great, adaptable pattern! And the yarn is cozy and easy to work with! Definitely give this a go!!

I wanted to crochet something a bit different and was delighted to find these mosaic patterns.
The pattern contains comprehensive instructions and references a very helpful YouTube video to explain how mosaic crochet works. It’s easy to follow and works up beautiful. Its fun to see the pattern appear as you complete each row!

The instructions for this afghan are sheer BRILLIANCE! Taking into account various styles of learning, the instructions are available in text form (regular line by line numbers and abbreviations) and in graph/grid form. It has a ready-reckoner to remind the crafter which rows in which pattern and how many patterns have been completed. And there's more!! Still not sure about the directions? There's a link to a video that shows beginners how to proceed. Still not convinced about the calibre of the product? It articulates the difference between UK and US names for stitches AND provides a clear legend for all stitches. Never, in all my years of knitting, crocheting, tatting, embroidering quilting and crafting have I seen such exemplary instructions for a pattern.
And...of course...the afghan itself is a rich mosaic of designs in beautiful, cozy, thick wool.

I am only half way finished this blanket. I am enjoying the easy to follow instructions and it’s working up beautifully. I can’t wait to see the finished blanket.

Very well written pattern. A lot easier to do then I expected, once you get the hang of it. Go to the YouTube tutorial, very helpful. Approximately 1/2 way through, very excited to see it finished.

This was my first attempt at doing a mosaic blanket and now I am hooked! Ordered it in the Real Teal color….I think this is the prettiest design I have ever seen, and I am amazed at how easy it was to do and how beautiful it turned out. Very clear directions. Gave this as a gift to my brother-in-law and he absolutely loved it!

Haven't started yet. Read thru instruction sheet seems easy enough. Quick shipping. Have loved all other MM kits I have received.

The pattern is easy to follow. The yarn is okay... definitely a durable brand. I love the afghans that use this technique. Very different.
I kinda wish I could download the pattern and buy the yarn locally. It seems a bit pricey.

This is the first time I have ever done the mosaic crocheting technique and I am hooked. The pattern is easy to follow and I very much enjoy seeing the design in the afghan appear.

The thread is easy to work with but the red heart yarn is much wider than the coral. It took a little getting used to but it looks good. I also bought this in the Anthracite. Mary Maxim is always quick and her people are very helpful.

I love the color coral but it doesn’t feel like a worsted 4. The white one does and it’s easy to work with. But I have to be really careful with the color coral. The blanket is turning out beautiful though so I gave you a five. Fast shipping.

Easy instructions and nice final product

I haven’t started this blanket yet cause I’m still working on the scholach blanket which is also mosaic design by Abi McIntyre . I’ve had so much fun with the mosaic pattern that I bought this blanket.

It’s a lot of work, admittedly I had my doubts but the results are exceeding my expectations. I am doing this for a friend, she will be delighted.

I didn’t know I would enjoy mosiac patterns as much as this. I look forward to doing another one soon.
