Un enfant est né

I cheated a bit - used linked double crochet to get more contrast and used a different border. But the key was the filet crochet pattern and it is fabulous. Just a gorgeous result. I did need an extra skein of yarn but expected that due to the linked double crochet.

Easy to follow pattern, worked up quickly.

I loved the pattern and am making it for myself. My first time working from a graph although I'm a longtime crocheter -- a bit of trial and error before I got myself on the right track! I'm not in a rush to finish, so it's only about seven inches long so far. :)

I love this pattern so much, I've made 5 of them. The pattern was fine to understand. There was enough yar in 4 kits that I was able to make the 5th. I'm giving them as Christmas gifts.

Loved Deep Teal yarn color. Nice & soft. Quick & easy to work up; found graph easy to read having cross-stitched many years and crocheted several intarsia design afghans with graphs. Ran out of yarn half way through border.

I am about 1/3 the way done and once you get the hang of it I enjoy the pattern. I had to start over several times since this is only the second graph I have used to make an afghan.

The pattern is confusing because the graph doesn’t match the amount of stitches.

I really enjoyed learning a new skill! It took me a little to figure out how to do a graph design but once I did, it was easy to read and a wonderful outcome! The sides all came out even and so it squares up very nicely! I enjoyed this project and am so excited to give it as a gift for Christmas!

This was the first kit that I ordered from Mary Maxim. I just finished it and it really turned out beautiful. I did have to order a extra skein of yarn. I did meet gauge but I crochet very loose so I should have gone down a hook size. The only other suggestion I would like to make is that the chart for the pattern could be a little larger to make it easier to read and maybe a written pattern to go with the chart. I did enjoy making this afghan and will absolutely order more kits.

I found the directions confusing , I have 4 dc on one side and 5 on the other? Then things get uneven in the middle about row 19 from the bottom of the graph. Squares didn't line up correctly, throwing the pattern off. I was excited to do this project but after 4 times starting over I am frustrated.

This is one beautiful and meaningful project that I’ll be proud to display every Christmas.

Graph is completely wrong. Stitch counts do not come out correctly. Do you have anyone that can offer pattern assistance? Has anyone who made this have any advice?

Can’t wait to start such a blessed project. Yarn is beautiful, soft yet robust and the pattern is gorgeous. I love the simplicity of the design. Colours gave some appropriate choices.

When I bought it I didn't realize it was a graph pattern. I haven't done in one in the past nor did I ever care to. So now I'm stuck with a pattern I probably will not use and yarn I don't like using because it untwists and the hook splits through it. I'm very disappointed.

I'm enjoying completing this project.

I just started this project and I am confused with the instructions.
Does the dark square mean 2 dc's together forms 1 dark square?
I am not understanding how to follow the right and wrong side rows.
I do understand that when you are the wrong side, you follow the pattern in the opposite direction then when you are on the right side.
I thought I was doing well until I got to row 14 and got to the 2 dark squares in-between 6 and 8 white squares. In row 15 I couldn't make it look correct above those 2 dark squares from row 14.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
