This pattern was absolutely horrible!!!
1) It's in black and white. (Plastic Canvas does not work well with black and white. )
2) It shows way too many pieces needed for just 1 basket. All the baskets are the same!! You only need to show the pattern once!
3) Some of the patterns are upside down!! Because the PDF has so many pieces and is laid on top of a full plastic canvas sheet, the back piece is upside down, which makes it hard to follow from a computer!
4) The symbols are ridiculous. Why is the symbol for white yarn a white oval with a black dot, but the symbol for the red yarn is a white oval? This makes no sense whatsoever!
5) The yarn colors are not explained. What color is "natural"? From the photo, it looked no different than white.
6) The Backstitching is unclear because the whole thing is in black and white, and it becomes difficult to see amongst all the other black-and-white symbols.
7) Bar counts are missing and hard to see! The grid under the pattern is faint and difficult to count to figure out how to cut the pattern. It feels like this was copied from some old magazine from the '70s!
8) It is unclear how to attach certain pieces, like the gables. The directions are vague and unhelpful.
This is by far the absolute worst pattern I've ever used. I've been doing plastic canvas for over 30 years! I even make my own patterns. If this is what the rest of the Mary Maxim patterns look like, not only will I NEVER buy another pattern, but I will recommend my fellow crafters find their patterns and kits elsewhere. This is very upsetting as there were some beautiful ideas on this website, but they should be user-friendly. If you want to see what good plastic canvas pattern-making looks like, please contact me. This is a disaster!
This pattern is printed in black and white and hard to follow/cut because of quality of pattern. Glad it was on sale as I would have been very disappointed if I paid full price. Be sure to print a color copy of the item from the website to use as your reference. Still have not figured out how many gables to make - Do I make 2 sided?

I think they look cute in the picture, however, I purchased just the pattern and choose to purchase it as a download and I have been unable to retrieve the download. I have called customer service 3 times about this issue. I was told that they could either email the patterns to me or send them in the mail and all I have received are suggestions on how to try the download again. I have explained to them that I am not a novice around computer and the downloads are just not downloading, but so far to no avail. If and when I receive my purchase and am able to actually use the pattern, I can revisit this review and update you.
