The Snow Queen Blanket

Loved the pattern. Watch your gauge so you don’t run out of yarn. Liked the yarn color of soft white but yarn was a little thin for a 4-ply. Have made several in other colors! Wish I could send a picture! I found that I needed to use a smaller crochet hook because using an “I” is too large for pattern.

Bought 2 kits and no tan yarn sent in either kit.

Absolutely beautiful. I too was short enough yarn to complete the project but I called customer service and they sent an additional scan of yarn, no charge.

This is by far the WORST yarn I’ve ever used. I started the pattern and almost half way through the first skein, it was 3 separate strands. So, I started over again with a new skein and it was all bad! I’m very disappointed in this kit. RUN, don’t walk, away from this kit. Not worth the money if you’re not going to use it. I would say that red heart is many times better!

Super easy graft to follow! The graft is very large which makes it a breeze to follow. I am happy with the pattern and extra happy with the yarn. If you like soft yarn then you will love the yarn in this kit. Great price for the Snow Queen, but I think the shipping is crazy over priced. I can get yarn shipping from the UK at half the price which makes the deals much better.

This is a gorgeous kit that I need to learn the stitches. It helps to buy a kit to learn.

This blanket was fun to make and the yarn is soft and very easy to work with. It’s a beautiful blanket and I’m happy with the pattern and finished result. However, I always check my gauge and use suggested hook. I’ve never had a problem with kits, that’s why I like them and buy often. This one didn’t have enough yarn to finish so I had to buy more. Very frustrating.

Just started this. The graph is great and the pattern is easy. I really like the yarn feel. It’ll be a beautiful and cozy throw.

The Snow Queen pattern works up to be as beautiful as the photo; it's also quite easy--the only aspect that might make it an "intermediate" level is that it's important to count the stitches constantly. But that's not exactly difficult! Why two stars, though? Because the kit didn't come with enough yarn to finish the project: I need another skein to make the border. I can't find the Mary Maxim yarn on the website--although, honestly, I've no intention of one skein of yarn and paying the shipping; I'll have to figure out a work-around. It's a shame that such an easy, beautiful pattern doesn't come with sufficient yarn.

Red heart yarn in the color Aran I don’t like and the yarn is not a soft yarn. The pattern is different than the picture. You have other yarn that could have been substituted other than red heart that would have been better.

I just finished crocheting the Snow Queen blanket. It was easy to do and looks beautiful. It worked up fairly quickly and there was enough yarn to complete the project. I enjoyed crocheting it.

I’ve bought several throw kits and this is the first kit that did not provide enough yarn. I was not able to complete the two final rows and the border, I found a yarn that I could use and it was a good match (not enough time for me to order one more Mary Maxim skein) and I was able to complete the toe throw. It’s a beautiful kit but there should be one more skein of yarn included.

I am about halfway done with this blanket and I am loving it! The chart is easy to follow and I love the yarn.

Dissatisfy with the yarn. It is red heart in Aran. In the picture it shows white and I expected white yarn. I also expected a softer yarn than Red Heart. I have bought several afghan kits from Mary Maxin and this is the first one that I have been dissatisfied. I like the pattern.

I have 7 rows to do and disappointed as I need one more skein of yarn to complete it. Other than it is beautiful and pattern was easy to follow.

I have only just begun making this blanket, but I think it's going to be beautiful! Love the all white design, using the bobbles for dimension. I'm so glad to have this as a winter project!
