Lancer de tuiles persanes (Mary Maxim Mellowspun DK)

I made this afghan and it is gorgeous. The instructions were a very complete and easy to follow.. If you need visual help there are videos on YouTube on this pattern. My only “ complaint “ are there are so many ends to weave in. I ordered a few extra skeins just to make sure I had enough for the border. Anyway it was worth the effort because this pattern is gorgeous. You do not need to be an advanced crochet to make this afghan. Highly recommended.

I purchased the sandalwood. Colors are muted not really the lighter/brighter shades as shown. I was disappointed but really wanted to start - I'm actually really happy how its coming together. The colors selected do work and are growing on me. But if you are looking for lighter maybe select your own colors. Pattern has been straight forward and if you're having issues reading the pattern the staff are super helpful.

I purchased the Persian Tile throw in the color Sandlewood. The catalog shows bright cheerful colors with contrast. What I received was muted, more earthy colors without much contrast. After contacting customer service and providing photos of the colors I received and compared to the photos in the ads and catalogs, I was told they didn’t have the shades of yarn available to send me and advised me to apply for a refund. Although I did get a return label, my original shipping costs I paid were nonrefundable even though the item was clearly misrepresented in the catalog.

I absolutely love this pattern. It looks hard to crochet, but very easy for me. I ended up ordering all of the from Jane Crowfoot. What a dream to make all of these.

I just received my kit for the Sandalwood Persian tiles afghan. The colors aren't as pretty as what is represented online. I chose this one because of the brightness of the afghan as shown. This will be a much duller-looking finished product. I am quite disappointed. I was so looking forward to crocheting this.

I am a new at crocheting but have done pretty well with the pattern. It is beautiful and have ordered more colors.

Pattern is very well written and I had plenty of yarn, mind you, I do crichet tighter than some.
I have had many compliments on my piece, and the recipient loved it so much, she order another one.

Don't be frightened to take on this porject. It really is a beginner project and there is a Facebook group listed on the pattern that has created videos to show you how to do the harder rows so don't hesitate to do this throw if you're a beginner like me. I've had so much fun creating it and learning crochet at the same time. I'm a knitter but new to crochet.

The yarn is lovely, and this is a fun throw to knit. The designer Janie Crow suggests that you work one row of each piece at a time so that the whole throw grows at the same rate. That way, you won't have to start a new piece and try to remember the rows again. It's like doing it in a production line, but simpler because you learn the row and then do it across all the pieces.

This pattern is so beautiful. I am making it for my sister and she is eager to get it. The stitches are so much easier than I thought they would be; the blanket is coming along much quicker than i thought, too. The Mary Maxim yarn has gorgeous clear colors, is very soft and is easy to work with. I highly recommend this kit!!

Great, easy pattern. Enjoyable to make. I had an ample amount of yarn in the kit to finish the project. However, the yarn itself was not so much fun to deal with. Nearly every skein had several areas of un-spun sections (Cream color having the most). The lightest pink yarn also had some areas contaminated with bright blue dye. I also noticed that the yarn was more slippery than usual for Mellowspun, and it shed more than usual, too.

I enjoyed making this beautiful blanket, and the color scheme went very well together and I appreciated it already being figured out for me. The only thing I would suggest is that I was a little short with the slate color and I had to get creative. I would recommend that they add another skien of slate to the kit.

The yarn for this afghan is great quality and the colours are beautiful. The instructions are very well written and easy to follow. There are also pictures that are very helpful as well. I would highly recommend this project for anyone who is looking for a challenge. Beautiful afghan. Looking forward to seeing the final result.

Loved the instructions with all the photos. Was disappointed in the size so made an extra row ( could have used two but I was tired of making the pieces) and changed the border. Also loved the yarn but impossible to pull from the center. With all this said I think it is the prettiest afghan I’ve ever done and I’ve done lots!

The pattern was easy to follow and written very well. The Melowspun yarn is so soft, and great quality. I had plenty of yarn for the pattern. I will be making this again.

So many ends to sew in! But it was all worth it in the end. Great pattern with a fantastic result. The yarn is gorgeous, so soft and easy to work with. Love it.

The afghan is absolutely gorgeous. The pattern is okay. The original pattern is copyrighted, so when you purchase a different color scheme, they send you a color substitution list for each block. It makes it very challenging to follow the pattern. Fortunately once you learn how the motifs go, you don’t need to refer to the pattern as much and you can just check to see what color comes next. The yarn leaves a lot to be desired. One skein completely unraveled and had to be replaced, which delayed completion of the afghan by a couple of weeks. None of the skeins were that good. I had many issues and there are mistakes due to the yarn that are visible to me, but probably not to my daughters, to whom I gifted the finished afghan.

More complicated than originally thought. This pattern is for an experience crocheter. It helps if you find a tutorial on tube.

Wish online it would list the colors the kit calls for. I like to order extra skeins for in case my tension is off. Also like to make 1 of each mofit to use as a visual reference. Kit does not allow for this. With this said, I recommend purchasing 1extra skien of each color.
