I was excited about these mystery skeins and the amount you’d get so I took a chance. I saw the great reviews with pictures and decided to take the plunge. I bought two of the 2lb yarn bags and a 1lb yarn bag. Despite all the excitement, I’m a bit disappointed. I know the color is random, but all 5 skeins I got are beige. I thought at least 1 of the 2lb or the 1lb would be a different color, but nope. The yarn is decent I think, but meh…. I definitely won’t purchase this again. I don't want to risk getting more beige yarn.

I ordered two of these bags of yarn. One was a soft, pretty pink acrylic worsted yarn. The other was a beautiful goldenrod tweed that is VERY soft. I’ll definitely buy this yarn again as I love surprises and hope I get some more goldenrod tweed. The only thing I’ve found online that looks like it is Brava Tweed but it’s not on Mary Maxim. I didn’t buy it because I was afraid it wouldn’t match what I received in my bag. I didn’t take a picture of the pink yet but I did the golden/mustard tweed which is attached to this review.

Love the quality and the yardage! Received mint and a mustardy yarn with flecks. This isn't the first that I have purchased!

Bought 4 bags of these 1 pound per bag deal. Had a sweater pattern requiring 833 yards of yarn. Took a chance on the one gold flecked one and was able to complete it (little pile of leftover “tails” pictured to the right. The 3-color blanket was made with the other three bags - cream, maroon and navy. I really lucked out! Will do it again.

I've done this 3 times now, with this last purchase being for 2 balls. They were delivered in one 16 oz skein. I was a little afraid I would get yarn that wasn't all one piece but haven't run into any knots. The colors were all something I could use (a dark spruce green, a white, and a gray-ish tan-ish). The only thing I miss is a label with a color name, lol. I'm pleased and will do this again. And the yarn works up softer and with a better feel than a lot of the other yarns I've been buying for my projects.

I ordered this for the first time a few months ago and I continue to order it each month as a surprise treat for myself! I’ve received gorgeous yarn in a variety of colors. One is enough to make a baby blanket. Best bang for my buck!

I giggled when I opened the box and was greeted by such pretty colors, and when I removed the plastic bag from a beautiful coral, the yarn just fluffed out. It took patience to find the beginning yarn strand in the middle, but when I did, the large skein is staying together, tangle-free. Ordering 7 bundles at one time, I was lucky to have received colors to knit a red, white and blue mitered corner blanket (still in the works). The cost, of course, is a huge savings.

My favorite yarn to order for sure! Love this awesome yarn deal, it’s soo exciting to see what colors you get! Sometimes if you’re really lucky you might get a pound of Love! Beware it’s quite addictive once you get a taste for mystery+ fabulous quality yarn too!

I love that I got 4 different colors that I use. 3 selections were soft yarn 1 wasn't but I love that I received 3,4 and 5 weight size thank you. The only 1 thing I wasn't happy about was that the beige color yarn had a brown spot on it, but overall I was happy with my order

Mystery bags are all about the MYSTERY! The yarn I received was very soft and pretty, BUT very bright! I received a very bright, almost neon, pink and a very bright orange. No problem; I've already decided to make some Halloween baby hoodies from the orange. The pink is still to be decided upon. If you like some fun surprises, these bags are fun.

I received a light blue and it was perfect for hats I have been working on. The package said it was made in Canada, it was a quality product. Will buy again.

I got 2- 1 lb bags of yarn, both the same gold/brown, not a pretty color yarn, it was too scratchy to crochet with. I had also bought 2- 2 lb bags, they are all the same color. I now have 6 skeins of the same color yarn. It would have been nice to have at least one of the lbs of yarn in a different color. Won't be buying the lbs. of yarn again.

Great yarn - a full pound! I wish I could choose the color. I keep receiving beige.

This yarn turned out to be exactly what I was looking for to use on my project. Mary Maxim is the best.

The pound of yarn is a good value. I like getting a surprise color, and the yarn is good quality also. I will order this again

I bought 6 in hopes at least some colours could go together. I received:
- army-ish ombre
- solid green
- key lime pie ombre
- solid yellow
- pink and orange ombre
- solid white
