I was surprised that natural was more of a pale yellow

I was surprised that naturalvwas more of a pale yellow. I haven't even started making the afghan but already I see the yarn is so very light weight. Just those 2 notices I am not sure I'm going to like the afghan. I so hope once I get started on the afghan I'll like it better. I don't have much luck with your kits having sufficient yarn. 2 out of 2 is not a goodbsign.

I’m not 100% happy with the results

I’m not 100% happy with the results. I’ve crocheted for over 50 years and I didn’t find the instructions (especially the very beginning) to be very clear. I googled for a YouTube video, but didn’t find anything. I have project complete (except for border) and I feel like I didn’t do a great job.

Wonderful product

Wonderful product. I just wish there was an instructional video online paired with it so I could be sure I am doing the stitch correctly.

Beautiful yarn and easy to work with

Beautiful yarn and easy to work with. Afghan is beautiful and will make a very nice Christmas gift. My afghans go to nursing homes, specifically to residents who have no family.

Love it…

I love this pattern! It took a bit of time to get used to the way it’s written but that’s normal for new patterns. I really enjoyed it.

I suggest the following information added to the instructions:

1) Yarn behind at the beginning of the first stitch in every new row so your work lays flat and doesn’t twist at the end of each row.

2) After your first chain 3 at the beginning of each and every row, make sure your first SC is between the first two SCs on the reverse side. If you don’t take the extra few seconds to do this, the pattern will shift and the SC rows won’t alternate properly.

3) Minor point but might help newbies… Row 4: After the words “skip next st)” it should read “continue pattern” across to last ch-1….

Tip: The number of SCs in each row equals the row number. (10 sc in a row = row 10,)

I’m only half way through the pattern so just started decreasing. If I find any inconsistencies, I’ll report them here.

When changing colors it give directions which are

When changing colors it give directions which are confusing . It states to finish dc . However it says work same way to end and doesn't mention that when changing work a dc and not the sc. I noticed how sloppy it looked at my color changes so I ripped back and used dc. I would have given 5 * except for this confusion.

I bought the yellow combo

I bought the yellow combo. So disappointing, nothing like the picture. The yellow is too pale, it gets lost. Ordered green yarn to replace. I think it will be lovely.
The beginning instructions are confusing, my mind couldn’t see what I was to do. Found a video which cleared it up.
Seems to me Mary Maxim should provide some instructional videos, or links. It would be greatly appreciated by lots of people.

The design is very classy. I went up a hook size to match gauge. Instructions are clear, but as I am relatively new to crochet, it was helpful to first watch an online video with corner to corner moss stitch. Looking forward to the finished blanket.

Infinity blanket

I've knitted for 50 plus years, never crocheted a complete project before. To a novice pattern was very easy to follow. Gauge is not where it should be, but that's my problem not the pattern

Pretty but wonky for me

This is a pretty pattern but I struggled a bit with the ends of rows, and ended up dropping stitches for a more trapezoid shaped afghan. I may try again and count stitches at the end of each row. The pattern doesn’t give you those stitch numbers so I’ll have to calculate myself. I was able to block to shape but when she washes it she’ll definitely have to reboot each time—or deal with the odd geometry!!
