Étoiles et rayures afghanes

I made this for my daughter for her birthday in May. She loves to decorate for the 4th of July and Memorial Day, this will be a perfect addition to all her decorations. I found this kit easy to complete.

This was a good project! The stripes and the star area didn’t line up as well as I wished they looked but overall looks great! The only real complaint I have with the yarn is the blue was tangled badly in some spots. It also would just stop. It was like 7 different pieces of yarn that were not knotted or tied together.

Found the pattern to be very hard to follow. It would be very helpful if Mary Maxim had videos to follow along with the pattern. Also ran out of white yarn and had to order more.

The kit is filled with quality yarn and terrific written instructions. Easter first, then I will dive right in to this project for our Country’s 250th anniversary. I have several framed flags to complement this afghan. Mary Maxim does it right!

I love working on this project. As well as about 10 other ones. WIPS are so much fun. You can never get bored. M.M. always have quality kits and products.

I haven’t started crocheting the blanket yet but the yarn is very soft. Im pleased with the colors & the instructions are easy to read.

The yarn was not the same colors as in the picture and the instructions. The bundle gave me a pure white unstead of natural color in the picture. The Dk blue in the picture was not the same color I received. And the red was also disappointing. The yarn itself was cheap feel and just fell flat. I was not happy with this purchase. It was just cheap.

Didn't care for the way the Star section was made. Have to order more Blue and white yarn another time. The stripes were good.

I bought this kit 20 years ago when the instructions came in a Leisure Arts book containing other patterns. To call this a Stars & Stripes afghan when the pattern was written for only 46 stars is ludicrous. Fortunately, the kit contained enough yarn for me to add the extra four stars, but it required my having to make adjustments to the pattern.

Have not worked it yet, but have read over the instructions. Pic shows 6 pointed stars, but directions are for 5 pointed stars, which is what I want. Anticipate no issues.

Very quick project. For an afghan it worked up quickly. Final results were very nice.

I was disappointed that it only had 46 stars.

Omg spent entire day , slowly, following directions, 1by1 . Finally tossed Directions. Made my pattern with 50 stars. The worst directions I have ever seen.

This pattern is a little tricky but worth every stich.

I really like the pattern, it's simple and works up quickly. The reason for only 3 stars is because the main reason I bought this kit is because of the cream color and the others being more muted. I received bright red, bright white and bright blue. Very disappointed.

The time, crocheting and triple reading of the pattern was worth it as to make a pretty blanket. It was a gift well received!

The stripes are absolutely gorgeous. When packaging I got different yarn than advertised, and also was shorted on the white yarn. Lastly, since when do we have a six pointed stars on your flag and only 46?!?

I really enjoyed making this afghan. It is a christmas present.

I absolutely love my stars and stripes afghan! I adjusted something with the stars to make it work better for me. Stripes ended up longer than my star field but worked out when I connected, just crocheted the white stitches extra to pull it in tighter.
Yarn was Mary Maxim yarn as advertised.
Everyone loves this blanket and is stunned by how amazing it looks!

Really loved the flag. Had an issue with the red getting thinner in areas. Due to that some didn't match up.
Did adjust to 50 stars.
After readjusting it came out good.
Had a little trouble understanding the pattern instructions and made it without some of the instructions.
My mom is 82. Gave it to her as a gift. She absolutely loved it.

I purchased this kit because I loved the picture, but quickly realized that the flag has just 46 stars! Why make a US flag with 46 stars? I am in the process of adjusting the pattern to 50 stars, but don't feel like I should have to go to all this work when I paid for the pattern! Also, a different yarn was substituted for the advertised yarn, which I don't mind, because I like the yarn, but whoever packed the bag shorted me 6 skeins of red and gave me 2 extra blue. Disappointing.

Just received my order. Not very happy. Red heart yarn not Mary Maxim as stated. The "white" in more than than white. So basically I just paid big bucks for a pattern and spend more money for yarn. I have been a customer for nearly 30 years.....so disappointed.
