Will probably knit this again …

Lovely pattern and it looks great but I did not love the yarn recommended. It split too easily. I also added some rows to the end of the pattern to match with the bottom of the blanket.

What a NIGHTMARE

This pattern requires that you to basically rib stitch the front and back of the blanket simultaneously using two strands of yarn for each square of the pattern graph. You also have to switch the graph colors when knitting the back of the blanket. Constant doublechecking and unpicking are an unpleasant part of the process and god help you if you drop a stitch. Although I have knit for over 60 years each row took an hour to complete. The yarn is not as soft as I would expect for a baby blanket an it pills. I will be recycling the yarn to make hats for charity and passing the pattern on to my worst enemy as soon as I find someone I dislike enough.

Dear Carol, we're truly sorry to hear about your experience with the pattern. We appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to customer service if there is anything we can do to assist. caninfo@marymaxim.com

Help with pattern!

Should I be casting on 145 or 290? Ie is each box a separate stitch or is each box a knit + purl. Have gotten to the lines with color changes and it appears I’ll have to change colors on a purl stitch ?

Instructions

Pattern: the instructions were clear on how to knit with 2 different strands of yarn. HOWEVER there weren’t any instructions on how to go about when starting with the graphs, ie whether to switch colour of yarn or to switch a k for a p or vice versa. There seems to be a page of instructions missing.

Very interesting new technique for

Very interesting new technique for me. I’m an advanced knitter/crocheter. Had to frog a few rows before I had a good grasp of the concept. The pattern is well written/graphed and the yarn is great. I changed the colours to taupe and natural which is a subtle contrast. I’m one third done and looking forward to the completed piece.

Nice pattern

Did NOT like the yarn. To fussy and the yarn sticks/kiss and very hard to work with. Found the yarn untwisting so just had 4 plys not twisted. Would not recommend this yarn for this pattern. Found doubleknitting a new and interesting way to knit.

Hearts Aplenty

Nice blanket! Pattern is easy to follow but is definitely for experienced knitters. The yarn is nice and soft but I find that it is quite fuzzy!

I have read through this

I have read through this pattern and it is a bit tricky. I will be making it for my grandson, due in June. I am familiar with the “double-knit”, two-sided technique and can’t wait to get started. I am using different yarn colors than those offered in the kits.
