This was created in the 1990's with Mary Maxim's best-selling worsted weight yarn, Mary Maxim Starlette (230 yds). These charming Santa and Snowman Stockings will add a sense of whimsy and nostalgia to your holiday decor. Colors and amounts needed are Red and White (1 skein ea), 35 yd pcs: Black (2), Md Blue (3), Lt Pink (1). Make them for your family to treasure for a lifetime! Requires knitting needles size U.S. 8 (5 mm). Finished size: approx. 22". Intermediate knit.
Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, stocking stitch, increase, decrease, repeat, embroidery duplicate stitch, and colored pattern knitting method.

So pleasantly surprised. I couldn't tell from the photo how textured the stitches were going to be ... but I loved it. Learned the stitches following the pattern and worked up the first block in two evenings.
Love this yarn
This yarn has it all. So soft, great drape for a chunky yarn, a joy to work with, and the flecks of color hold my interest. The claret is a deep red, a wine red, and I had to buy up more as well as other colors! I went through a test of stitches that worked best and I found the moss stitch was the best for a simple mindless repeat for a throw project. Wonderful yarn. I can honestly say I bought up enough to last me awhile.
I cannot wait to start this project. So fun and exciting! I love that Mary Maxim is still in business...such good memories from when I was a brand new knitter, who was taught by my great grandma.

I am a complete newbie. Never knew how to knit but I practiced and learnt all the required techniques before I worked with my actual yarn. The multi coloured intarsia is quite hard for beginners so I would recommend using only 2 colours for intarsia and duplicate stitch the remaining colours and details. Completed the prohject in 1.5 months and while it definitely doesn't look as good as an experienced knitter since I've made a lot of mistakes on the intarsia parts, I am very proud of my cardigan :> Amaze amaze amaze!
I love this yarn! I make baby blankets to donate to local places. The yarn is soft, doesn't split, and has a great colo selection. AND its machine wash and dry!

Fun double sided pattern.
My grandma made knitted Stockings for everyone in the family and I mean everyone. When she passed I inherited her patterns. Sadly some were so well loved they could not be read anymore. I was ecstatic to find them in digital format. I can continue on the tradition.

Poor printing
The pattern was easy to follow and the Snowman stocking was very cute. It is a large stocking. I did not use the Santa pattern yet.
I was extremely disappointed. the file was not download able. It kept saying it was corrupt. I wrote several requests to customer service requesting a refund or non corrupted files. neither has been forth coming. There has been generations of my family making purchases from this company. Mine was likely the last unless proper resolution is found.
