Mary Maxim Bamboo Stripes Sock Yarn

I used stocking net stitch and tried to get gauge with the recommended size two double pointed needles at 32 stitches and 44 rows for four inches. Before I got to the 4 inches for 44 rows, I measured the width for 32 stitches, and only had around 3 inches wide. So I kept trying with size three, then 4, then 5 and could not get the gauge of 32 stitches for 4 inches. It still was less than 4 inches wide.

I was using the Mary Maxim bamboo soft stripes superfine 1, with the Mary Maxim Lace Bamboo Socks.

I loved how the finished socks looked in the store, and would like a pattern that worked with the gauge correctly.
