Gingerbread House

Loved this quick and easy kit. More then enough yarn to make everything and you have the pattern for future use. Finished product is glued to a cardboard cutout (that was the hardest part, cutting the cardboard!). Clear instructions and looks great!

I made this last fall and really enjoyed the process. I had to take some books out of the library to brush up on basic Crochet, since I hadn't done it in years. This project doesn't require difficult stitches, just consistent work. The various crocheted pieces are hot glued together. The house sides are used to trace the house shape on cardboard box pieces. This cardboard is taped together and then the 'gingerbread pieces are glued on. Crocheted gum drops and peppermint sticks hide all the seems. The crocheted icing and icicles were fun to make. The hardest part was the hot glue gun. Everyone who saw my house loved it and was very impressed. A great project. !!

The Gingerbread House kit is so cute! The instructions are clear and are very easy to follow. The yarn needed for one house is included. With these instructions (which include the red heart color numbers used), I will be able to make as many as I would like. I can use different colors to customize the Gingerbread Houses for different people. I'm thinking of making one in team colors for a football fan!

I'm still working on this project, but it's already starting to look awesome! The instructions are easy, I love Redheart's yarn...it's so soft. I can't wait to see how it comes out.
