Good Beginner Set, Okay For Advanced Knitter Review by Kit
Quality

Ease of Use

This is a very good general purpose set of knitting needles for beginners and advanced beginners, and adequate for many advanced knitters, especially for everyday knitting. There are better sets for special purposes. If you are an advanced knitter specializing in fine lace, these are probably not the needles that you use. There are other sorts of specialty yarn that work better on other sorts of specialty needles. But even for intermediate and advanced knitters, if you knit a variety of projects on a variety of yarns, you will probably be happy with these needles for many projects. I have some wooden interchangeable needles that I like better and use for many of my projects, and some nickel plated interchangeable needles that I prefer for other projects, but these are still needles that will do a fine job for many of my projects, and they are sturdy and convenient. This was the first set of interchangeable needles that I got, and I have never had any problems with them, other than the cables being a little stiffer than I prefer.

Can't Knit without! Review by Jenny L

Ease of Use

I have invested in much more expensive needles only to go back to my 20 year old Boye set! They are worry free and so versatile for every knitting project that I have done in the past 20 years and I look forward to the new set I just ordered to go on for ages to come! I can't say enough good things about these needles!

Excellent Value; Very Good Product Review by AriesKnitWit

Pros: great price point; most extensive needle size range in interchangeable sets; only set to include size 2 & 3; VERY durable; pretty colors; smooth joins.

Cons: cables are stiff; cables are only available in short lengths; some joins are poorly machined and do not screw together; some joins are attached to the cables at improper angles making needles difficult to use; when joining multiple cables, the join is oddly angled; replacement/additional needles and cables cannot be purchased directly from the manufacturer online and can difficult to find in stores.

I have had my Needlemaster set for more than 30 years and it still works beautifully. For many years these needles were my only needles and I still use them on occasion. They make a great needle set for a beginning knitter who expects to continue knitting. They work best for small projects or when using 2 circulars (just purchase an extra cable and set of tips). I most frequently use them for socks and have additional tips in sizes 2, 3, & 4. The rounded tips are easy for beginning knitters to use and work well with splitty yarn. Although I now primarily use wood interchangeables, these needles are still my stand-by needles, especially for projects that need size 2 or 3 needles. I consider them to be the best knitting investment I ever made!

I have had this set for years and love the interchangeable pieces. I always have the right size needles. Can be used as circular needles or or use the stoppers/ends to use as regular needles. Convienent. It is a bit of an up-front cost but compared to buying all individual needle sizes seperately this is definitely the way to go.
