- Addi Express King Knitting Machine is Wonderful Review by Melinda
Price Ease of Use Quality
I purchased the Addi Express King Size during the July 4th deal from the Mary Maxim website. This is a wonderful machine. Made in Germany by Selter, it measures about 13 inches across, a circumference of 41 inches, and is just over 4 inches high, not including the 3 inch legs. The machine has 46 needles/pins in the machine, an electronic row-counter, yarn holder, 4 legs, 2 table clamps, a hole to place your needle, & an operating switch. Included in the box are 5 replacement needles/pins, 1 plastic needle, an instruction manual with tips & tricks, a 24 pattern book with detailed instructions, an 87 yard ball of Schulana yarn, & 2 stoppers. The stoppers allow you to “set the web width of your knitting completely individually.” It arrived in perfect condition via USPS.
The Addi King works like a charm. Tenfold better than the Innovations brand knitting machine, of which I have two. Don’t get me wrong, the Innovations knitter is okay, but the Addi King is well worth the money. It is a very smooth running machine & quiet to run. Unlike the Innovations knitter, there are no parts that can “catch” the yarn, and the crank is easy on the hand. The yarn holder allows for different tensions & the electronic row counter has a clear button & a memory function. The counter requires one AAA battery, which is included. The Addi allows for circular knitting or straight knitting. As for dropped stitches, slow & steady prevents this. Also, I was able to use the machine while sitting on the couch. Here’s how. I did not attach the legs & set the machine on the box the machine came in. Yes, even the box is sturdy.
I only wish it came with an instructional CD, but that’s okay. YouTube has plenty of helpful videos available.
I will never regret this purchase! I hope this review is helpful to you. I will post this review to the Mary Maxim website as well as Amazon.
