I did one in the soft Aqua and it is really soft and pretty. But I did find that placing markers after each 20 stitches really helped u stay on track.

Very cute and pretty quick to knit for a last minute baby gift. Review by Bert

Directions are clear and easy to follow. I'm on my second blankie so far and both times the first skein is just the right amount to get through casting back on to close up the buckle hole. Continuing on up the blankie with the second added on skein for one side of the hole makes for fewer ends to sew in later! I would also agree with another reviewer that the three skeins that come with the kit is the right amount to finish the blankie without worrying about running out. I made the first blankie in about a week knitting about 2 hours a night on average.

Pattern was easy to follow once the pattern was established. I think I might try Judy's strip design sometime as well. This blanket was given to a local children's group and I am sure the baby that received it will be able to use it/

I've recently finished my first (but definitely NOT my last) version of this pattern and I love it. It was fun and easy to do. I chose a neutral teal color for either boy or girl, but would like to do more in other colors, too. This is one I will keep on hand for any new babies I hear are on the way. It makes a wonderful gift!

Alternate Pattern--Car Seat & Full Blankie Review by Judy

It's been a bit since I've knitted and if you make one mistake on this pattern you will be unraveling. Finally I thought about it and decided to do the pattern in four strips (the middle strip has two strips) so I could make the hole for the car seat buckle and the top middle strip would also be long enough to cover the hole with a Velcro closure. You would have a car seat blankie and a full blankie when desired. It takes 4 skeins of yarn--one extra then the other pattern. Cast on 40 stitches for each strip and work rows 1-10 to a count of 19 sets for strips 1 and 3. The middle strips: 8 row sets for the bottom middle and 12 row sets for the top. I used Baby Print yarn to crochet the strips together with a popcorn stitch and single crochets the outer edge. Email me if interested and I'll post a picture - mail@judyneff.com. Love this pattern and that made me stubborn enough to figure out a way to knit this and not make so many mistakes.

I have made several of these car seat blankets lately. This is an absolutely beautiful pattern that is easy to follow. Three balls of the Starlette yarn is sufficient for this project, so don't worry that you will run out of yarn. The moms-to-be have been very impressed with my knitting skill!!

I knit this for my first grandchild and my daughter loved it. A friend of hers who had a baby about the same time saw my granddaughter's and raved about it. So I knit one for her, too!
The directions are easy to follow. The color choices are fabulous. It washes beautifully and becomes even softer. This will be my "go to"
pattern for baby shower gifts.

This is an awesomely easy pattern, very easy to follow and remember for portable knitting projects. I'm knitting another one and will modify for a different carseat but because this is such an easy pattern, it will be easy to customize.

i recommend this!
