Mary Maxim Best Value Worsted Weight Yarn

I love this yarn. Have used it for afghans and also sweaters. It is so soft and it washes beautifully - retaining its shape and its softness. First found this yarn at a Mary Maxim's tent sale. Thought I would take a chance - what a good idea that was. I love making baby afghans out of this yarn specifically because it is so soft and comes in a variety of colors. You don't have limit yourself to blue and pink.

I like this yarn a lot! I find it to be almost identical to 'Caron Simply Soft' in both texture an quality. Vibrant, beautiful colors, and a soft luxurious feel, and snags continually! The snagging is VERY annoying, but overall this yarn is terrific and is lovely in whatever project for which it is used.

i have made afghans for yrs. for so many other people....I am placing this order after reading the reviews for an afghan for MYSELF finally...can't wait to get started!!!

I really love this yarn. It is soft, but doesn't split when doing the stitches. It washes nicely and stays soft and doesn't pill like some other yarns that I have used. The skeins are big enough so that there aren't many ends to weave in before my project is finished. The price is a bargain and since I am making lapghans for the Wounded Warriors program, I don't have to spend a small fortune, just to give it away to charity. I would like to see a larger selection of colors, but the ones available are lovely.

This yarn really is a good value. But the best part of it is the soft hand and the ease in which it works up. I've tried other yarns that have a good softness but they are so loosely spun that it takes an extra second or two with each stitch to make sure I've caught all of it on my hook. With Mary Maxim's Best Value, however I never have to think about that and it saves loads of time because I just don't have to think how the yarn is catching, I can just keep going with the pattern I'm working on and therefore get done in a lot less time. A wonderful yarn and i plan to use it as much as I can. I only wish it came in more colors.
