Rise and Fall Throw

I purchase afghan kits that I work up and donate to our church group 'Prayer Blankets'. The priest blesses them and they are available to all parishioners free of charge. The intent is to give them to folks who are not well, due for surgery or heavy of heart. What little donation is given is shared among those who make the blankets. It helps to defray the cost of yarn.

This is a rare find to get a ripple afghan done with single crochet. You will find that patterns using DC and variations of that are everywhere. I have spent hours looking at patterns and being disappointed. Finally just called Mary Maxim and they had just what I was looking for.

The colors are as pretty as the picture shows, and the pattern is easy. Even with very loose tension, the pattern curls; and the finished throw is light weight and looks smaller than the actual measurements.
