This iconic design includes instructions for either raglan or set‑in sleeves, along with your choice of a cozy shawl collar or a sleek flat collar. You can also finish it with a button or zipper front, making it easy to customize the look and fit. A true heritage knitted garment that never goes out of style.
Originally crafted with Mary Maxim Northland wool, a bulky weight which offered 80 yards per skein at the time, this cardigan was built for warmth, durability, and classic style. Today, we offer a wide selection of bulky yarns to help you create the perfect version for your wardrobe—and we highly recommend Mary Maxim Titan for its softness, structure, and beautiful stitch definition. Keep in mind that yardage varies by brand, so be sure to check your labels as you plan your project.
Materials List: MC Sz 38-40 (11 skeins), Sz 42-44 (13 skeins). CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4 All Sizes ( 1 skein each color), 8 large buttons or open-ended zipper. You'll need U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) and 10 (6 mm) needles to bring it together. Fits sizes 38-40-42-44—Intermediate knit.
Stitch Requirements: Cast on, cast off, knit, purl, repeat, increase, decrease, slip, color changes using fair isle and colored pattern knitting methods.
